About BlueFire:
BlueFire is an intercultural social enterprise empowering young people to create integration through arts & community engagement. Our flagship event is the BlueFire Street Fest, a world cultures festival bringing together thousands of people from the wide variety of cultures now living in Dublin.

The Talk Series:
BlueFire are embarking on a new project - our monthly ‘talk series’. The talk series will take the following format:
-          5 minute talk by each of our guest speakers (3 - 4)
-          25 minute panel discussion (including Q&A from audience members)
-        World Cafe style discussion to see how BlueFire can learn from the experience of our audience and speakers (this is in terms of our organisation developing its long term strategy).
Each month's event will focus on a different topic relevant to our organisation (e.g. Youth Sector, Festivals etc)

The idea for the talks series is born from the desire for BlueFire to connect with and learn from the various sectors we intersect with. However when planning our strategy for this, we wanted to find a way to harness the time that people would be giving us in sharing their experiences so as to not only be of benefit to us, but also a benefit to others wishing to learn more about some of the community sectors working in Dublin. In conclusion of this, there are 3 key aims for the talk series:
1.       To connect with people working in the 4 sectors we operate (community, festivals, youth & migrant sector).
2.       To connect people/organisation working or interested in these sectors
3.       To use these events as inspiration and idea generation for BlueFire’s long term strategy by:
   a.        Learning from what speakers have to share
  b.     Opening up opportunity for audience, speakers & BlueFire personnel to engage in meaningful dialogue to input into this (and the relevant sector in general)

The Role:
To increase the impact that these events can have we’d like to record them for online distribution. The various responsibilities of the role varies depending on the candidate.

Option 1: The volunteer would come along and record, providing the footage to BlueFire for our internal team to edit and distribute.
Option 2: Record the event, and then edit the footage into a 5 minute video highlighting the key stories, learnings and insights from the night.
Option 3 (our preferred!): The ideal situation would be alongside releasing a 5 minute video highlighting each event, that at the end a longer video/documentary is made with not only an accumulation of all the events, but showing how the insights garnered from these events has lead to BlueFire’s new strategy.

Who we’re looking for:
Would you like to see a united, inclusive Ireland? Do you want to be part of developing a meaningful long term strategy for our organisation? Are you eager to collaborate radically and think outside of the box? Have you got ace videography skills? Then you’re exactly who we’re looking for!
