DANCE PLAZA CLASSES
Join us at our Dance Plaza where you can not only watch some amazing performance, but be part of the experience and learn new choreography from some of Dublin’s best known dance professionals. The Dance Plaza will take place in front of The Lighthouse Cinema on the main square in Smithfield. Classes are for all levels.

Bollywood Beats | 1.30pm - 2.10pm
Mili Seth, the choreographer and founder of the academy, is a trained Kathak dancer and started learning Kathak at the age of 8 years. She had a tremendous passion for freestyle dancing on music from Bollywood films. Her carreer as a choreographer started when she got the opportunity to train kids for dance shows at cultural events in schools. Mili will be kicking off our Dance Plaza events with Bollywood Beats for kids so the little ones can have their own day at the movies!

Dublin Salsa Bachata Practice (DSBP) | 2.20pm - 3.05pm
Salsa is an intoxicating fusion of dance styles rooted in the Caribbean, Latin American and African culture. Our Dublin Salsa Bachata Practice teachers will the demonstrate the basic salsa step, cross body lead and under arm turn. Popular all over Latin America, bachata is a similar 8-beat dance with simple, sensuous moves from the Dominican Republic.

Bulgarian Folk Dance | 3.15pm - 3.45pm
Join Bulgarian folk dance group "Bread and Salt" for a lively participatory dance. The group focuses on Bulgarian traditions and folk dances through the centuries, from the ancient Tracians to the Slavic and Bulgarian tribes. These traditional dances were taught to them first hand by their grandparents and great-grandparents.

Forró with Forró Ireland | 4pm - 4.45pm
Forró is a traditional couple dance that originated in rural north-eastern Brazil. The basic steps are very similar to salsa, making it extremely easy to pick up.
Forró Ireland formed in 2014 by a group of friends who love all things forró. Their mission is to make forró grow in Ireland by providing top quality classes and parties with some of the best teachers around the world.

Capoeira with Centro Cultural Capoeira Água de Beber Ireland (CECAB) | 5pm - 5.40pm
Capoeira is a Brazilian cultural expression that mixes martial art, sport, popular culture and music. It has Afro-Brazilian origins and incorporates movements of fight, acrobatics, dance, percussion and music in a rhythmic dialogue of body, mind and spirit.
This open class will be lead by members of CECAB in Dublin and Brazilian master instructor Francisco Mamaozinho.
